In 1966, the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of the State of New York created the Prince Hall Service Fund, Inc., as a 501c3 organization to provide service to the Harlem community. The primary goals for this organization were the establishment of a daycare and other philanthropic endeavors in the Harlem community. Since its inception, Prince Hall Service Fund, Inc., has been among the few, if not the only, male led organization to provide childcare in the City of New York to the Central Harlem North – Polo Grounds area for over 40 years through the Prince Hall Colonial Park Day Care Center.
